When I was writing this article I was also reminded of the table summary attribute which sort of confuses me because we have an element and an attribute serving a very similar purpose.

Interesting... I'll have to try to start using that tag where appropriate. Also reminds me of the often ignored "summary" attribute for table tags which the validator that I use often yells about whenever it is absent.

This reminded me of the wallpaper for TASVideos, which I had just discovered a few days ago when they redesigned their homepage. A neat trick is that the little Mario/Luigi images in the middle of that image are used in an animation on the top banner of the homepage. Also, this trick is used so that instead of several slow requests for each individual graphic, you instead have one larger, but quicker overall request for a combination of all of the graphics.

I think there's a commonly-used Firefox extension that allows you to disable JavaScript for specific websites. Maybe it is "noscript"? But good point - if someone uses my proxy, there are technically more points of tracking - my server logs, your server logs (if you have access to them), and your GA code. Perhaps we need to develope anonynet or something. Tor is supposed to do a good job in providing some privacy. Disabling cookies (overall, or for specific site(s)) also helps greatly. Also, for fun, many common ad servers (doubleclick.net, fastclick, tribalfusion, atdmt, imrworldwide, falkag, etc) are set in my hosts file to point to 127.0.0.1, which is answered by Apache with a kind "FILE_NOT_FOUND" message ;)

Chris with the nealgrosskopf.com.chrisretlich.com, there's double analytics going on then. My GA analytics and your webserver log files. Stalker x 2. Websites rely on JavaScript so heavily now days that it's pretty difficult to browse the web without it.
