Very interisting effect! I see it works with Safari and Firefox MAC. What about Windows and IE? With Safari I have some strange behavior when selecting text.

Christien, Lightbox uses the Prototype Javascript framework, while this technique uses JQuery. You'll need to add some code to your page to make JQuery and Prototype work together.

It worked super untill I added the lightbox2 script code. This messed up the layout completely. Is something special needed to ad other scripts or is it not possible at all?

@Dele: It might depend if you set your images to repeat-y or not. The BODY background-image will cover up the HTML background-image in the layer stacking. If your BODY image is set to repeat-y it will by default cover up most if not all of your HTML image.

@Chris, thanks for pointing that out, I will correct that. @Paul: I think there's a time and place for justify. If you have a very narrow column, say 100-300px wide, then I wouldn't use it. For large area's of text such as your main content DIV, I think today's browsers do a wonderful job with justifying it compared to other software I've used such as graphical editing programs like Adobe Fireworks.
